Marymoor Trails Snow Plans

Marymoor Trails Homeowners and Residents:

Last winter’s unexpectedly heavy snow left many Marymoor Trails residents unable to get out of their garages, driveways, or onto Old Redmond Road.

We learned last winter that it is impossible to procure snowplows and driveway clearing on short notice during/after snowfall.

This year, we have planned ahead and are contracted with a snow removal service.  Here are the outlines you need to be aware of:

  1. The snow removal service will not come out unless there is at least 2” of snow on the driveways and roads through Marymoor Trails.
  2. This means you will need to be prepared to remove small amounts of snow from your immediate driveway, garage area, and sidewalk in the event of less than 2” of snow. We advise acquiring a shovel and ice melt to keep on hand for a small event to clear your immediate vicinity.
  3. Please realize that in an event with less than 2” of snow, some vehicles may not be able to make it up the hill past the mailboxes and out onto Old Redmond Road.
  4. We will be marking speed bumps with reflective sticks to prevent their accidental damage if the plows are activated. Please do not move them. They will be collected after the season.

In a qualifying snow event, the vendor will automatically arrive as available to keep our driveways and roads clear and passable. They remind us that their services are shared with all other communities they have contracted with. They will work on a priority basis, potentially leaving and returning in phases.

As a reminder, be sure to cover all outdoor hose bibbs with Styrofoam protective covers.  Below-freezing temperatures will cause pipes behind the hose bibb to burst, resulting in water damage inside the garage walls.  If this occurs and the homeowner has not protected the hose bibb, the repair will be a homeowner responsibility, not covered by the HOA.
