Large rats have been spotted by residents in several buildings. The CDC says rats carry disease and are becoming more aggressive and venturing farther due to food service garbage no longer available.

United Pest Control has 4 bait stations per building.  This is considered to be a lot of bait stations.  They say adding bait stations probably would not help.

If rats see something tastier – pet food, bird seed, crumbs from lunch, squirrel feeders, garbage and compost – they will ignore the bait stations.

• Don’t put out water or food for wildlife
• Keep pet food and water indoors
• Dispose of garbage and compost securely
