SECURITY WARNING! Catalytic Converter Theft

Catalytic converter theft from vehicle parked in front of garage on upper level.

We are alerting all Marymoor Trails residents — this is the third incident in three weeks. We had an abandoned car towed which was linked to a Missing Persons Report of the Seattle Police Department. A few days later, a Ben Franklin delivery truck parked on the upper level for several days. A resident checked with Ben Franklin — they said their truck had been stolen. This was reported to the Redmond Police Department. Now, a catalytic converter has been sawed off a vehicle parked right in front of a garage. (Replacement cost is $2500 plus installation, parts backordered.) This has been reported to Redmond Police.

For security, you may want to park all vehicles inside the garage. Many residents have been using their garages as extra living space during pandemic shutdown. This may no longer be a secure option.

We will discuss association security at the next Board meeting. We ask that every resident help keep Marymoor Trails a safe place: keep your eyes open, report any suspicious vehicles not displaying a Marymoor Trails Parking Sticker, keep all items secure.
